Cypriot Organizations Working with Survivors of Domestic Violence Discuss New Report

Violence against women and girls remains one of the most prevalent and pervasive human rights violations in the world. Bravo to the Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (MIGS) and the Association of Women to Support Living (KAYAD) for partnering to provide a critical assessment of the legislative and policy framework in Cyprus related to violence against women. The roundtable discussion on Friday, December 1, in the UN Buffer Zone provided a rare and valuable opportunity for local organizations, groups and experts—including Caritas Cyprus—to exchange experience and contribute to the final version of the Joint Report, “Policy Framework and Recommendations for Addressing Domestic Violence and Supporting Survivors in Cyprus”.
