Caritas Cyprus Hosts Nepali Welfare & Cultural Association Cyprus

On a recent Sunday—often the only day off for many foreign workers—Caritas Cyprus hosted an information session for and with the Nepali Welfare & Cultural Association Cyprus to discus the rights and responsibilities of foreign workers in Cyprus. Participants were able to learn more about employment rights, legal obligations and available support services while also sharing experiences and concerns.

Foreign workers play a vital role in Cyprus’s economy. According to 2025 data from the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection, more than 175,000 legally residing foreign workers contribute to key sectors of the labor market, help meet workforce shortages, and support the country’s social insurance system. Their contribution is essential to sustaining economic growth and many of the goods and services on which Cypriot society relies.

Caritas Cyprus remains committed to promoting awareness, inclusion and the protection of workers’ rights for all.
