On April 24, 2026, Caritas Cyprus had the honour of meeting with the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union during the COMECE’s Spring 2026 Plenary Assembly in Nicosia, held on the occasion of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union. With the organization’s hierarchy—Archbishop Selim Sfeir and Bishop Patriarchal Vicar Bruno Varriano—we were able to share insights into and from our work supporting vulnerable groups in Cyprus at the crossroads of two regions. We were grateful for the opportunity for dialogue and for the interest in the challenges of grassroots organizations at a time of dwindling resources.
