Language barriers prevent refugees and migrants from engaging with their new communities. Overcoming these hurdles through learning the new language promotes individual transitions as well as overall social cohesion. In cooperation with the Akelius Foundation, Caritas Cyprus organized Greek-language classes for beginners that accommodated unpredictable schedules and transportation challenges. It was gratifying to have consistent participation and to have more students complete the curriculum than originally registered! Και εις ανώτερα!
