Beginning on June 9, Caritas Cyprus is launching its KIPOS (Garden in Greek). Anyone interested in learning something or meeting someone new is welcome to visit between 2pm and 5pm any and every weekday. The KIPOS will host a range of activities designed to enrich the lives of those who participate. Rather than try to replace formal learning in classrooms, the activities will provide opportunities for growth in a relaxed, supportive and flexible environment that meets individuals where they are.
Each activity will provide an enrichment opportunity – these may be learning (languages, literacy, numeracy, homework assistance); culture and arts (music, theatre, art); life skills (managing money, navigating healthcare) or job readiness (CVs, job search, interview prep). In general, the learning is expected to be informal and responsive to the interests and needs of those who visit. KIPOS is flexible enough to allow people to drop in and out of activities as needed and children will be allowed to attend with their parents if disruptions are minimal. Additionally, there will be programming designed specifically for children!
Check out KIPOS’ weekly schedule and visit one afternoon soon!
