The COVID-19 pandemic affected everyone everywhere, but had particular repercussions for those trying to reach Europe and to integrate into European societies. On January, 20, 2022, frontline practitioners from Greece and Cyprus reflected on their experiences in a roundtable discussion that focused on the impact the pandemic has had on the perceptions that shape migration patterns, on the realities migrants faced during a public health emergency and the ways service-providers adapted their activities. “Locked Out of Lockdown: COVID-19 and Its Effects on Migration Narratives, Migrant Realities and Institutional Responses” was organized by the Hellenic Ministry of Citizen Protection’s Center for Security Studies (KEMEA), Caritas Cyprus and the Cyprus-based technology company ADITESS as part of the ongoing PERCEPTIONS Research and Innovation Project coordinated by SYNYO GmbH and funded by the European Commission under a Horizon 2020 grant.
