This May, two members of the Caritas Cyprus team took part in MYSTIC, a project funded by the European Union to mobilize youth and youth-service talent through trainings and immersive co-design. The group of community members – comprised of marginalized youth leaders and promising youth workers from across Cyprus – participated in interactive co-creation workshops throughout the weeklong program in Miranda do Corvo in Portugal to examine the challenges facing marginalized young people in Cyprus. Together, they brainstormed ways to better engage and support marginalized youth in Cyprus with grassroots approaches. The program was implemented by Godinhela Association (AGID) in partnership with ADFP Foundation and Cyprus-based One Terrene International. “The training was a great opportunity to gain skills to strengthen our community work, and to ensure that the needs of migrant young people were being considered in these conversations,” reflected Caritas Center Fellow Beata Corcoran.
