Internship programs can be valuable for both interns and the organizations they serve. Interns bring a variety of skills, fresh perspectives and contagious energy. In return, they gain practical experience and the opportunity to connect academic learning with professional work.
Caritas Cyprus has made it a priority to welcome young people to its team—semester after semester and summer after summer. It strives to provide educational value, allowing interns to apply classroom knowledge to the real-world situation facing a grassroots organization in Nicosia, on the frontline of Europe’s battle with social challenges. Hands-on exposure to processes and to people allows interns to learn and to contribute. Caritas Cyprus is fortunate to have hosted interns from a variety of universities in Cyprus, the UK, France and across Europe.
In recognition of the excellent internship experience Caritas Cyprus has provide for students from the University of Oxford specifically, the Oxford University Summer Internship Programme has recognized it as a 2024 Gold Standard Internship Host. This honour is based on commitment to the programme, overall quality of feedback from interns, consistency of internship provision and responsiveness to communication from students and the Internship Office. This designation is appreciated as is the work of the dozen interns from Oxford that have worked with Caritas Cyprus over the last five years.
